Abstract

This paper takes the Thermodynamics course of the Department of Engineering in Lancaster University as an example, expounds the typical teaching model of engineering subject in Britain from the aspects of course development, teaching form, course practice and performance assessment. Combined with the current situa- tion of higher education in engineering subject in China, this paper puts forward the teaching methods of improving and developing the related courses of engineering subject in China in order to cultivate students scientific thinking literacy, scientific exploration spirit and independent innovative learning consciousness, and at the same time to train high-quality and high-standard international compound professional talents for the country.
