The L2 learner corpus: reviewing its potential for the early stages of learning

chapter
posted on 2023-07-26, 13:05 authored by Anne Ife
This paper examines what use might realistically be made of a learner corpus in the early second-language learning context. As illustration, it reports initial work with a large corpus produced by multi-national learners of Spanish as L2, taught in the same environment by the same teaching team. It examines the early acquisition of some core verbs and provides indications from the corpus for the impact on acquisition of variables such as course materials and L1.
