The article discusses the progestogen-only pill (POP) as a contraceptive choice for women. POP contains the hormone progestogen and is known colloquially as the mini-pill. It is less popular than the combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP), but it is a useful option for women in whom an oestrogen-containing method is contraindicated, and for older women. One of the advantages of POP is that it is well tolerated by most women.
