online resource

This article links Britain, America and the USSR racing towards creating an ICBM in the 1950s with North Korea's present nuclear policy. It argues that Ian Fleming's third Bond novel, Moonraker (1955), which comes out two years before the world's first ICBM is tested by Russia, examines these cold war pursuits that the world has not yet grown out of.
