Digital revolutions and digital delays: Electronic editions of renaissance literature

journal contribution
posted on 2023-07-26, 12:51 authored by Eugene Giddens
This article highlights some of the difficulties in producing electronic editions of early modern literature, especially the drama. It outlines the early expectations of promise towards such endeavours, and the subsequent disappointment that this promise has not been fully realised. A model of selective cooperation with scholarly publishers and for-profit digital providers is proposed as a possible solution towards the delays and subsequent obscurity that haunts existing projects.
